How often do I need to bleed the brakes
Asked by Garrett, Gilbert, Arizona
You'll need to bleed your brakes after replacing the cable or fluid. Doesn't hurt to put new fluid in even after changing the pads, but how often you do it is it up to you. You'll need to loosen your bleeder valve on you caliper and fill the master cylinder up with fluid and then just keep pumping the fluid through and adding more fluid when needed until there is no bubbles left in the lines. If you leave air in your lines your breaks are going to be super spongey and not work properly.
