What It Is

The Fox Racing Proframe is a chest protector designed to work in conjunction with neck braces. It is available in two sizes to accommodate a wide range of riders.

Hits

Simply put, the Proframe is the most comfortable chest protector I've ever worn in conjunction with a neck brace. Paired with a Leatt, the Proframe fits perfectly and requires no modifications. The shoulder straps offer a wide range of adjustment and don't interfere with a neck brace at all. The chest and back panels rest comfortably against your torso, and are held snugly in place by the well-designed strap system. In comparison to the existing Airframe, the Proframe has a closer-fitting design that moves less on your body while riding.

Misses

Because it's designed for use with a neck brace, there are no shoulder caps and thus, the Proframe has no shoulder protection. I, however, choose to wear a chest protector more for the front and back impact protection, than shoulder coverage. Furthermore, bulky shoulder caps are what keep many riders from wearing a chest protector in the first place.

The Verdict

Comfort-or a lack thereof-is what makes most riders shy away from chest protectors in the first place. Now that Fox has introduced the Proframe, that excuse has been eliminated. I love it.

" I got this after getting roosted at the track wearing a thin under jersey pad protector. Works great keeps the big stuff from leaving bruises. Easy and fast to get on and off, nice big buckles that can be worked with gloves on. Great fitting system, adjustable for days. I wear it under the jersey with an underarmor like shirt and I don't have a problem with getting too hot. Realy nice, well thought out gear. "

Very Neckbrace Friendly
" I read other reviews before buying this, everyone said it works great with the Leatte brace but no one commented about the Alpinestars Bionic brace. It works GREAT with that brace as well. Overall you lose no range of motion, its very light. Good roost protection for your Chest/ torso area. Obviously no protection for your shoulders, but I am willing to give that up for the Neck brace. "

" yea i love this thing im spewin it got stolen or i lost it out in the bush somewhere i never want to go ever again in my life so im buying another one had mine since they come out good quality every body says its good to use with a neckbrace which it is i put my mates neckbrace on and went for a ride and couldnt even tell i had either on aswell as you can easily have a bag on you back (not with the neck brace on but) with this chest protector on "

Not so much with a Bionic
" I'm 5'6" 155 pounds. Short, but pretty stocky. I bought the S/M since anything in a Large I typically swim in. I'm that odd size between an S/M and an L/XL. (too short, but too thick) So, I wear an Alpinestars Bionic neckbrace and I have the straps let all the way out on this chest protector and it still doesn't quite fit right and causes the neckbrace to ride up on my neck. Maybe if I had an L/XL I could have more strap to open up the top more and allow the neckbrace to settle. Or maybe I just can't figure it out quite yet. I've been searching forums and will try a few things, but you should not expect a seamless fit with a Bionic like this apparently has with the Leatt. Other than not being able to sync up my neckbrace yet I love the thing. WAAYYY better than a Sentinel (which I wore for years). "
