• The Alpinestars Bionic Neck Support SB (Special Blend) is the epitome of neck braces, reaching technological safety features that could only be achieved through the years of research Alpinestars invested.
  • Alpinestars designed the Bionic Neck Support SB to work in conjunction with the helmet when contacted during an accident to dissipate energy throughout the upper body therefore reducing possible injury.
  • The front of the Bionic Neck Support SB utilizes a quick release buckle to open, working off a hinge at the rear. The rear pivot key system is constructed out of durable and lightweight magnesium and allows for the brace to be dismantled in an emergency.
  • Through Alpinestars research they realized, to provide the utmost safety there needed to be breakaway points. The rear stabilizer is backed with foam that will deliberately bend or fracture during high pressure. This foam continues through the shoulders and chest area with the same features that relieve pin-point pressure.
  • Alpinestars added protection against damaging the collar bone with the Bionic Neck Support SB. Nothing protrudes through the bottom of the shoulder area that could cause injury.
  • Proper fitment can be achieved with the aid of the various thickness foam on the under side of the shoulder area of the Bionic Neck Support SB.
  • Alpinestars constructed the frame from a blend of reinforced Polyurethane to allow the Bionic Neck Support SB to be forgiving with high strength for load distribution.
  • Different riding styles may call for different mounting straps. The Bionic Neck Support SB includes the X-strap or there is the optional upgrade of the A-Strap which wraps around the chest for a more snug fit.
  • Note: the Alpinestars Bionic Neck Support SB, as with any other neck brace, can not completely provide injury avoidance. The Alpinestars Bionic Neck Support SB, like other neck braces, will however, provide some level of protection in most impacts. You are involved in a dangerous sport where no product can provide a guarantee of injury avoidance. Ride within your ability.

Best Brace Ever!
" The sizing was perfect, if you are barrel chested I think its true to size but if your not then get a size smaller. It looks great, fits great, and offer great protection. If your looking for a neckbrace go with Alpinestars SB. "

Good fit with Thor Sentinel
" I bought this neck support in a size Small to go with my Thor Sentinel chest protector, but it was a tad too big both for me and for the chest protector (difficult to tuck in the front, the back could not be tucked in and sat on top of the protector's back panel). So I bought an X-Small instead, and I could not ask for a better fit. Not only does it fit me perfectly, but it fits the chest protector perfectly, allowing me to tuck in the front and back beneath the protector. It does not get in the way while riding, and is very comfortable to wear--though I am going to buy the A-straps for it, as the straps it comes with are slightly annoying to put on and get situated. So if you are fairly skinny, i.e. in your teens or early 20s, and get most everything else in a small, go X-small on this. "

great buy for the price
" the best brace for the price. the only problem is making sure you buy the right size. take a good measurment and subtract and inch or two its better to be tight then loose. other then that its light weight and comfortable. "

READ THIS
" So how to rate this product...I hope I never find out how well it works. What I can tell you though is, that it is extremely light, looks snazzy and flashy for those looking for glam riding the trails or track on a weekend and it stays secure. I can't tell you whether it saved my life or not but I wear every time I step on the bike. 4-5 times a week. (I know its a lot) Once you put it on and ride you will forget it is there. The retention straps that go under your arm pits fit nicely inside or outside yours jersey or shirt. Sizing: If your skinny and scrawny with no pecks or back muscles to show get the small. If you work out consistantly and have chesticles that make your t shirts fit oddly along with back muscles get the medium. If you look like Arnold Schwarzenegger get the large. Basically what I'm saying is that if my mother rode I'd buy one for her. "

Size Warning!!
" I am 179 cm (about 5' 10") I am 141 lbs and measured 36 inches chest circumference. With that being said I ordered a small. I get my small in the mail put it on and it was HUGE! I mean WAY too big. So I re-order an extra small get it in the mail and fits like a glove. The booklet it comes with is informative with very clear instructions. Seems to be a quality product. I like that it doesn't sit on my collar bones. The X strap it comes with isn't really my preference so I will be getting an A strap for it, but the x strap works perfectly fine and isn't uncomfortable. Everything works great and NO complaints "

Safety is job 1!
" I bought my son one of these about a year ago and he had been on me to get one. So I finally did and although I had heard that these feel a little bulky or awkward, I did not have any issues with it. I put it on the first time and went out an rode and felt fine with it. Everyone has a different riding style, so this may give some that awkward feeling, but for me, I don't mind it at all. Really nice piece of protection! "

Great Brace
" Brace offers full range of motion , but still seems like it willl give proper protection. I tried the Leatt and I didn't like where the support rested around my Collarbone. Felt like if I took a hard impact it would transfer to my collarbone and possibly break it. I have broken it before(hasn't everyone) The only downside I could say about this is you cannot use it with all chest protectors, it will ride up around your helmet and limit your range of motion, But so does the Leatt. Bionic neck support
" New to the neck support market. Test fitted a few over different brands and went with the alpinestars. Easiest to remove and put on. I'd say its average weight and the x-strap isnt really good at all. Buy the A strap unless you want the support moving around while you ride.As for comfort it does place some pressure on your chest and back but nothing you wont get used to. Sizing isn't easy and theres only a shoulder pad for adjustment. You must measure your chest with a soft tape measure under the armpit to get the correct size. The sticker was falling off right out of the box, Alpinestars forgot to pack my x strap. I love their tech boots and i'd say for easy of use and design the bionic support is better but only by a bit. Luckily I havnt been in a crash yet so i cant speak as to how well it responds in a incident. "

" I'm late to the scene, just turned 40 this year and learning. Had my doubts about this thing (it does give you a decent range of motion...kids all have leatts). That was until I endo'd last night. Planted myself head first.....not even a stiff neck. Works as designed as far as I'm concerned.. "

Very Comfy
" This is a pretty nice neck Support, I had the leatt club and it's alot more adjustable but if you can get the right alpinestars size its totally worth it. The Alpinestars brace is sized way to big so if you wear a medium shirt get a small brace if u wear a large get a medium the sized if totally messed up, but when you get the right size its almost perfect to ride in. It fits best with the thor sentinial CP if you gonna wear it inside the the CP but after two motos it a pain to get the leatt off but the alpinestars slips in the front its terrific!! "

better then the leatte
" ive got both this and the leatte, this neck brace i have yet to fall that hard on it but for all the little spills so far so good. The main reason that you should get this instead of a leatte is that this neck brace gives you more head movement and is 2x comfier. looking for a neckbrace i would go this one. "

Alpinestars Neck Brace
" Very nice product. Very comfortable, can't even tell it is there. I upgraded from the EVS neck brace and this feels much better. Nice locking strap, just like on their boots. Feels solid. You can use it with or without the chest protector and with or without straps. I use it without straps when not wearing a chest protector and it stays put. I also use it with a Fox airframe chest protector and did not have to modify it, just adjust the neck cavity. It does run very big. I'm 6'3" 220lbs and I had to go with a medium. "

Saved me once already
" I will never ride mx without this brace again. I had a bad crash at my local track the other day that sent me to the hospital. luckily, I only suffered from a concussion. my neck and spine are completely fine and I am confident that this brace prevented an even more severe head injury, due to its movement restriction. The brace held up fine and it performed its task. I dont even notice it when I ride. What more could you ask for. Heck, it even looks sweet. Neck braces seem a bit pricey to me, but a few hundred is nothing compared to hospital bills. If you ride track, get a neck brace. You wont be sorry. "

" This is by far the best neckbrace fro this price. I've tried many others and never had the performance of this particular neckbrace. As a prvious review stated, it is not as adjustable as the Leatt, but if you get one a little to big, the strap system compensates. I'll never use another one. "

Awesome brace
" Switched from my leatt sport gpx to this and love it. Brace keeps a much lower profile on your shoulders and has little to no helmet interference. No issues with fitment, but the braces seem to run a little large. The only real "down fall" I can see with the brace is for the chest protector wearing crowd. The brace isn't as compatable with a lot CP's where as the leatt is. "

Great Product
" I got this product about a week ago and raced this past weekend in a stadiumcross event. This was my first ride with it. I didn't even use the straps with it until the Main. I only used them then just to try them out. I had no neck soreness the next day. I couldn't tell I was wearing it while riding. It is not as restrictive as the Leatts but is still VERY protective. It also seems to be of higher quality than the mid level leatt I tried on. It fits perfectly with my fox airframe chest protector with no modifications It also fits my Thor impact rig with no mods. I am 5'9 130 in street clothes and I got a small. Its a pretty good fit, may be just a bit big but still fits good. XS would have been to small. GREAT PRODUCT!!! "

" Tought I would try this out versus the Leatt. The brace was not as adjustable as a Leatt. Could not get a good fit. Ended up returning it and going with a Leatt adventure Brace. I liked how the brace opened in the front. Overall, not enough adjustment for different body shapes and the size chart was useless for me. "

Best neckbrace!
" This neckbrace is so comfortable! I preordered it back in september, and got it the day i was leaving to go ride. I find this neckbrace the best bang for your buck. fits better than the leatt, and just like the other alpinestar neckbrace, just at half its cost! "

what is the difference between the SB and the original alpinestar bionic neck brace?
Asked by RideRed118, Brawley, CA
the difference is only the material they are made of. The SB is composite and the Bionic is carbon fiber.
Answered by james718, Portland, OR
Will this item work with the Bionic 2 chest protector without fitting issues?
Asked by BNut, Orlando, Florida
It should, I would guess Alpinestars tested the fit of this brace with their own protectors so you shouldn't have any issues.
Answered by Drewski, P+RTLAND
are these compatible with most over the jersey chest protectors?
Asked by get2bill, Pasadena Md
Most protectors will more than likely need to be modified to fit with this neck brace. Just like with the Leatt Brace, we'll need to wait and see which protectors will work best.

When Arriwe?
Asked by Hack, Fin
We should hopefully get these sometime around December. If you do pre order one, we will run the card to make sure that the funds are available but we will not actually withdrawl the funds until the neck protector is in stock and shipped out to you.

If the sizing is wrong we can do an exchange for you as long as it's within 30 days of you receiving the brace and it has to have all the original packaging. Since sizing is going to be up to you to pick you will have to cover the return shipping back to us, but we will send the replacement protector out with no shipping charge.

It's going to be your call, both are outstanding products and the neck area shouldn't go unprotected so whatever floats your boat. Both braces pretty much serve the same purpose.

Alpinestar is the one to buy and cheaper and stronger than leatt

Which one is better?
Asked by PuertoRicanrider55, Puerto Rico
truth be known they both have a very similar design. they are both made the same. these things are tough as nails and you shouldnt worry at all about either of them breaking. the adventure doesnt feel as sturdy as the alpinestars but altogether they are about the same. so it comes down to personal choice and preference. i like the evs myself
Answered by moto75, Cahttanooga tenn.
the biggest noticeable difference between the Leatt and A-Star neck braces is the chin shelf. The Leatt includes this which keeps the head from not bending forward, which some people dislike. The A-Star Bionic neck brace does not have this, and allows the rider to look down.
Answered by james718, Portland, OR
the alpinestar sb brace is alot more comfortable and lasts a long while
Answered by Shemmy821
Is it adjustable
Asked by klock
No this doesn't have the same adjustments as the leatt. That is why they offer more sizes in the neck brace. the Leatt only makes 1 adult size neck brace.

the diff. between the red and white
Asked by moto284
The difference between the two Alpinestars Bionic Neck Brace is the material used to construct the brace. The 'Red' one is made with Carbon Fiber, and the New 'SB' or white one is constructed out of plastic composite. they both function the same, with the exception of weight. The carbon fiber one will obviously be lighter than the composite one.
Answered by james718, Portland, OR
The Material of the Brace, the expensive one is Carbon Fiber, this one is a Blend of reinforced Polyurethane main frame material, hence the cheaper price, it's on my Xmas list!

preformance?
Asked by d1abl019909
My suggestions is to do some research yourself and see what other people are saying about them. If compatibility with a chest protector is an issue, read which ones work with what. Any type of neck/spine protections is better than not having it at all.
Answered by james718, USA
The Leatt is no longer 160. the lowest level leatt brace is the Adventure and those are going for around 285 and the Alpinestars SB is 289. The best thing for you to do is go to a store and try the two on and see which fits best. bring your chest protector to get the best fit

alpinestar SB brace
Asked by alexander, pensacola, fl
It's extremely good quality and especially for the price. The brace doesn't completely eliminate the possibility of breaking your neck, but it does narrow the possibilities. It would take a pretty nasty crash to break your neck while wearing this.

This will work with most chest protectors. XL large size will be release after the first of the year (2010) the width of the back piece is approx. 3 - 4 inches wide.

Road Racing Application
Asked by WillMartin
Since your in a more crouched position while riding street it's probably going to limit your range of movement due to the support on the back of the brace and may not fit to good with a suite on.
