  • The Gaerne SG10 is arguably dollar for dollar the best motocross boot on the market today due to the innovative features Gaerne packed in.
  • It all starts with the technology to make safe even safer so Gaerne developed the "Razor Back Pivot System" for the SG10 boots that gives superior protection for the ankle. The Razorback system gives great side-to-side and front-to-back mobility without restricting movement.
  • Polyurethane construction with the Razorback system along with the protection on the inside, toe, and outside of the SG10 boots provides excellent impact resistance without adding weight.
  • Leather is a must when developing a high end boot, but Gaerne took it a step further with the SG10 boots and used Italian hand-selected full-grain leather to provide easy break-in and quality protection.
  • Gaerne's "Grip Guard" inner panel is incorporated into the Razorback system that creates a high friction contact point between you and your bike for quality control while protecting against heat and abrasion.
  • A supercross shank gives the SG10 boots a rigid platform that takes any high impact racing or just riding can through at it.
  • Gaining control and feel through the foot pegs is high priority and Gaerne installed a dual compound sole on the SG10 boots to accomplish that.
  • The buckles of the SG10 boots follow the simple rule "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" The aluminum buckles are durable and adjustable that function with ease.
  • Inside the SG10 boot is like a 5 star resort with the memory cell polyurethane foam liner surrounding your feet with the addition of Bio-foam for a custom like fit.
  • Even the foot bed found in the SG10 boots plays a part in the exceptional comfort. Gaerne incorporated a shock absorbing material to keep you comfy.

Awesome Boots!!! Debated the SIDI
" I could not decide between SG10,SG12 and SIDI boots, wanted something protective and that would last. Been a long time Gaerne fan. Even the cheapest pair I had lasted. Well it was a smart move, you cant go wrong with these, the first time you place your foot in the boot it just feels "high tech" and expensive. They break in quick and will last years, best boots I have owned by far. I'd take these any day over all alpine star boots! "

Phenomenal Boots!
" Gaerne has made a truly top of the line boot here. Having recently broken my tib and fib this last December (12/10), I spent a good deal of time weighing out all of my options in the way of high-end boots... And boy oh boy I couldn't be happier with these things! The construction, fit and finish of these boots are second to none and they feel both extremely supportive and comfortable once worked in a little bit. They seem to wear pretty darn well from what I've found thus far, the buckles and straps work flawlessly and the confidence and "strength" they seem to promote/provide feels great (especially in lieu of the injury and whatnot). Having ridden in these SG-10s for a little while now, I can't imagine wearing or settling for anything less in moving forward! 5 stars for sure... "

awesome boots!
" The first day I wore these boots, I was on a solo trail ride and swamped my bike 7 miles away from the truck. Any other boot on the planet would have resulted in festering blisters and bloody sores on that 7 mile hike back up the mountain to get the truck. Not these sg-10s. My feet were no worse for the wear. I have about 20-25 hard rides on them now, and there are no signs of wear. I would recommend ordering a size smaller than your sneakers though. They do seem to run a little big. I won't buy any other kind of boot... period. "

I would recommend these boots there well worth the extra money. They flex as you walk or have to put your leg and foot down going into a turn the boot will put you on auto turn. I would recommend these boots well worth the extra money. You get what you pay for so buy the best and forget the rest. "

" 2 and a half years and these boots have next to no wear on them, especially the soles. They fit any kind of knee guard or brace along with my XL size calf. Finally good boots!
" Every boot I had tried on weren't really comfortable and I ended up going with the Tech 3's because they were so cheap. After one ride of missing many shifts and how heavy and stiff the boot still felt I decided I needed to change boots. I picked the sg10 because of the reviews and because of their reputation. I can say that these boots are the best I have ridden in so far. I took them out a couple weeks ago and they felt so good and light. "

" i have had these for about 2 and a half years and they are finally wearin out the ankle hinge is prolly my favorite part it gives some extrea stiffness to prevent ankle roll but still moves great the only thing i dont like is the old school toe cap that always loses screws and falls off the top of the left boot is worn through from the shifter now and i think i will re up. Great boots!
" Adjustability of the buckles for bigger calves is nice, very comfy, they seem to grip the pegs better than my Alpinstars, and there is no real break-in time to speak of... However, I haven't had them very long yet so I can't really say anything about the durability, but I give them the benefit of the doubt for now. "

THE BEST.... PERIOD!
" These are by far the best boots I have ever owned. They are extremely durable, comftorable and stylish. The best part I love about these boots is how easy they are to break in. Mine broke in after just one day's worth of riding. Totally unheard of but true. Compare these boots to the Alpinestar Tech 10's and it's no contest. Gaerne is way better product with their pivoting ankle system and "roomy" boot interior. Wearing this boot is like standing on a pillow, totally soft and plush. Very easy to walk in as well if you have to thanks to the pivoting ankle system. Top of the line fine Italian MX boot. I will never.....never ever go back to Alpinestar just to pay for the product name. The only boot that might be better than the SG-10 is the Gaerne SG-12 but it is the same system with a new design look. Absolutley awesome! "

Don't Last Very Long
" I have had two pair of these boots and on both pairs, the the hinges broke after a few months of use. Once this happens, the boots become useless because to work with the hinge screws there is some kind of nut on the inside of the boot that cannot be reached without tearing up the boot. I would not recommend these boots due to their low durability. They run big as well. "

comfy & cool!
" i have big feet. size 14 and its hard to find boots that fit since most manufacturers only make up to 13. these seem to be true to fit. also, i have a badly injured leg and my left ankle looks like a grapefruit permanently, . this is the only complaint i have with the boots. the hinge is unforgiving and my big ole anklebone presses into the hinge and hurts like heck especially after riding for a while. if you have normal ankles, these are very comfortable tho. hope this helps "

Awesome Boots!
" I'm 16 and for some reason I'm very picky about my boots--these boots were up to my standards. I'm on my second pair and the only reason I got rid of my other ones is because they were stained brown from riding so much. The only thing i can complain about it that there were rips that developed after a year. The pair that I'm on now is still in perfect condition. I've worn the tech 10's and i think that the SG10's are just as good if not better than them. They're also a little pricey too if you buy them from a company but, as a sponsored rider they give insane discounts! Overall they're a fantastic boot! "

BEST BOOT!!!
" Best boot i have ever worn! I bought the first generation SG10's and they are by far the most comfortable and protective boot i've experienced. I started shopping for a new boot a few years ago after having a pair of 10 year old Gaerne's (traditional leather only with steel tip) and i tried on the tech 8's which all the racers seem to have been wearing, and they were really uncomfortable. I decided to try the new SG10's and they fit like a glove and only took a few rides to really break them in. I highly recommend this boot! I am glad i bought mine at $289 before they got popular! First generation boots are still holding up great! "

solid purchase
" I decided on these over all alpinestar boots. I've owned nothing but alpinestar my whole life and I had been hearing good things about Gaerne. The price is comparable to the tech 8's but I think comfort and safety exceed that of the alpinestars. the sg-10's have much more strength due to the pivot design and are loaded with padding in all the right places for a comfortable fit. Despite their comfort now the boots hurt really bad the first two rides I wore them but ever since then, they have broken in and are the most comfortable pair of boots i have yet to wear. Another issue I had was getting used to the sole of the boot as it is shaped quite different than I am used to which is taking longer to get accustomed to. The other last issue I have had is the shape of the shifting toe. I have to be very precise with my foot as i shift. I can't feel the shifter if i don't hit it in the perfect spot. Though I have these issues with the gaerne's The saftey an comfort outweigh the faults for me. Compared to the price and options of other boots out there, I would buy the gaerne gs-10. Best thing on the market for the price right now. "

" I've owned tech 8s for a while and had a pair of SIDI boots too. I just ordered my new SG-10's and they are by far the best. They are crazy comfortable, affordable, and it feels like they stick to your bike like velcro. They seem to give me much more control of the bike. i recommend them to anyone. "
Are they a heavy boot compared to tech 7?
My son has worn tech 6 youth for a few years now and cant decide between tech 7 or sg 10. He will be in a size 9.Thanks

How do sizes run?
Asked by Raven, Windsor
They run true to fit.
Answered by Drewski, Portland, OR
I wear size 11&1/2 to 12 shoes and boots, mostly size 12, and the size 12 Gaerne SG 10 seems to fit just fine.
Answered by yamahauller, Washington
does the pivot system help with overjumping or casing ?
Asked by Cinjarvis
It helps a little bit just because it gives your ankles more of a free motion to help absorb the impact.
Answered by Drewski, Portland, OR
Yes. and that is why you buy more expensive boots are for more ankle protection. I have the sg-10 and they are sweet. Cased a jump and ankles didnt even feel it. Used to have alpinestar tech 3s. My ankles could feel the difference
Answered by mxracingenthusiast
I haven't been there yet, but the do have good support and cushion, so they should.
Answered by yamahauller, Washington
Do these or any boots come in wide sizes
Asked by JoeWide
All of the manufactures we stock do not make a wide specific boot.
Answered by james718
The buckles and the straps both adjust, so there is quite a bit of adjustment for the calve, the width seems decent also, but they're not super wide, so you might need to size up...
Answered by yamahauller, Washington
Do these hurt your ankles like the tech8`s i just got a new pair and they hurt my ankles so bad idk if i want to take them back and get these or not
Asked by trx450r97
The Tech-8's use an inner bootie and teh SG10 don't. the reason the Alpinestars hurt your ankles is because the support is built internally into the boot. As the boots break in, you'll notice they wont hurt your feet as much. The SG10 have the hinge on the boot and are comfortable out of the box. But they don't have the inner bootie like the AStars.
Answered by james718, USA
I don't have Tech 8s, but I do have a steel plate in my right ankle, and these boots don't bother me. They are quit comfortable, but it all just depends on your perticular foot type I suppose.
Answered by yamahauller, Washington

I couldn' give you a comparison with the sidi's but i've worn the Tech-8's for years before switching to the SG10. The SG10 has a more relaxed fit than the tech-8's. Also, the SG10 accommodates wider calves. I have wide flat feet and would sometimes get sore arches with the tech-8, but with the SG10 i but in some custom footbeds for a little extra arch support and I've never had sore feet again. The Sidi's crossfire's seem to be really narrow in the toes and throughout the boot. but i've never rode with them.

I have a pair of SG-10's and a pair of the Gaerne supermoto boots. I wear a 12w and I have no problems with these boots whatsoever.

My foot is a little wider than average, and these boots accommodate me just fine. Couldn't tell you about the crossfires though.

These are the 2008, I didn't realize it when I first purchased, but I am still happy with the purchase. I couldn't tell you what the difference is between the 08 and 2010.
