You shouldn't have to do anything else to the bike, but I guess it depends on what you have already done to your ride. I would contact Pro Circuit and see if they can make any recommendations on other things you will need with this ignition.

this is a plug and play unit. but it does work great in conjunction with other engine mods.

This will help increase the low end, which the GP will give you as well, and allow for smoother throttle response through to the top.
